Roy D. “Dave” Becker, 81, of Shenandoah, passed away on Thursday, January 11, 2024, at the Lehigh Valley Medical Center – Cedar Crest, Allentown.
Born in Shenandoah on July 25, 1942, he was the son of the late Roy and Amanda (Applegate) Becker.
Dave retired from the Borough of Shenandoah in the sanitation department. He was a member of several local fraternal organizations in the past including the Lith’s Club, the Shenandoah Moose Lodge, and the Eagles Lodge. He also was a great volunteer who gave of his time helping the Shenandoah Recreation Committee with all their projects throughout the years.
Besides his parents, Dave was preceded by a daughter, Doriann Checklin, 3 grandsons (Billyjack Price, JesseeJames Price Sr. and Raymond Iaconelli Sr), along with several brothers and sisters.
Surviving family include his wife of 49 years, Vivian (Heine) Becker; 2 sons - Eric Becker and David Becker; 4 daughters - Michelle Brochyus with her husband Howard (and their 2 sons Joshua and Charles), April Halford with her daughter Katlyn (and her son James Halford-Dabney), Leilani Becker with her son Zaiden, Holly Becker with her sons George Haller III, Zakary Haller, her daughters Courtney McGowan (and her son Luke), Nikole Haller (and her children Lilah Hoff, Vierah Hoff, Adrianna Hoff, Stephen Ray Hoff); grand-daughter-in-law Jonna Iaconelli (and her children Ember, Vivian and Raymond Jr), granddaughter Nina Price; great-grandchildren JesseeJames Price Jr, Brady Datchko, Parker Price, Czar Price, Jackson Price, Jase Price and 5 other great grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews..
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, January 19th from 5 to 8pm at the Oravitz Home for Funerals Inc, 40 N. Jardin St, Shenandoah. Scripture services will be conducted at 7:30pm in the funeral home and will be officiated by Pastor Mindy Heppe. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
