Rosemary Szczyglak Obituary

Rosemary A. Szczyglak “Rosie”, 91, of Shenandoah, passed away on the Feast of the Immaculate Conception, Wednesday, December 8th , 2021,  a devotion she held so dearly to the Blessed Mother.

Born in Shenandoah on October 9th, 1930 she was the daughter of the late Joseph Jevelle and Mary Vernalis.

Rosie was a 1948 graduate of the former J.W. Besides her parents, Rosie was preceded by her husband, John A. “Jack” Szczyglak in 2007, a daughter, Mary Jo Szczyglak in 1996, and 3 sisters, Baby Wilhelmina Jevelle, Marceline Ruth, and Helene Durrette.

She leaves behind a daughter, Annette Yankus with her husband Andy – Mahanoy City, a son, John Szczyglak with his wife Barb – Shenandoah, 5 grandchildren, Andrew Szczyglak with whom she lived with, Angela Yankus with her fiancé Mike Tomko, Maria Yankus, John Szczyglak III with Shannon Goodman, and Marissa Szczyglak with Alberto Ruiz.  She also leaves nieces and nephews whom she considered like her own children, Helene Creasy with Mike, Joseph Ruth with Denise, Mark Fenedick with Karen, and Regina Smith with Will.
