Patricia O. Litwak

Patricia O. Litwak, 94, of Ringtown, Pa, passed away on Saturday, November 11, 2023, at St. Luke’s Geisinger in Orwigsburg.

Born in Shenandoah on February 17, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Pierce and Anna (Chernesky) Banonis.  Patricia was a graduate of the former West Mahanoy Township High School.  She worked in the local garment industry as a seamstress, modeled for department stores in metropolitan DC area, a department store elevator operator in Philadelphia area, and then last worked as an aide for Shenandoah Valley High School.  Patricia loved cooking, traveling, and keeping up with fashion, but mostly, she loved gathering with her family.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Samuel P. Litwak in 2018, sisters Marie Skurkis, Dorothy Banonis, Lorraine Jenslo, and brother Pierce Banonis.

Surviving family includes her husband of 71 years, Samuel Litwak; a son, Robert Litwak with his wife Christina – Perkasie, Pa; 2 daughters, Audrey Reese with her husband John – Ringtown, and Patricia Monaghan - Exton, Pa; a sister, Anna Kerlavage – Frackville; a sister-in-law, Dee Banonis – Pine Grove; a son-in-law, Bob Monaghan - Exton; grandchildren, Tyler, Bobby, Gwen, and Elise; 2 great-grandchildren, Charlotte and Jackson; and nieces and nephews.

A visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, November 16th from 9 to 10:30am at the Oravitz Home for Funerals Inc, 40 N. Jardin St, Shenandoah.  Services will be conducted in the funeral home at 10:30am and will be officiated by Msgr. Myron Grabowsky.  Interment will be held at 12:30 pm in the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in Annville, Pa.
