Michael Stinsky Obituary

Michael (Mike) Stinsky, 74, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, December 31, 2023, with his wife at his side.

He was born in Shenandoah on September 1, 1949, and was the son of the late Albert and Margaret Stinsky.

He attended Mahanoy Area High School and served four years in the United States Army as a Private First Class during the Vietnam War.

He retired from Insteel Wire Products in 2015.

He enjoyed spending time helping others through addiction and recovery and also spending time with family, friends, and his two dogs, Harley and Asia.

He was a member of the AP Damato Medal of Honor Legion Post 792, Shenandoah, PA.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Susan, and his second wife, Theresa. Also, brothers, Stephen, Joseph, and Albert and sisters Joan Yahchulis and Margie Chalkan. He was also preceded in death by grandchildren, Andrew Kufrovich and Emily Cooney.

He is survived by his current wife, Pamela Martinelli; a daughter, Susan Dower of Shenandoah; a sister, Sylvia Burke of Mahanoy City; and, a brother, Thomas and his wife Gayle, of Kulpmont.  He is also survived by 10 step-children, great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.

Funeral services with military honors will be held at Oravitz Home for Funerals, Inc., 40 North Jardin Street, Shenandoah, PA on Saturday, January 6, 2024, at 11 am.  A visitation for family and friends will be held from 9 to 11am.
