Mary Ann G. Pronio, 71, of Shenandoah, passed away on Tuesday, March 26, 2024, at the Shenandoah Senior Living Community.
Born in Shenandoah on April 3, 1952, she was the daughter of the late Emmett “Zaz” and Mary (Kizes) Oravitz.
Mary Ann was a 1970 graduate of Shenandoah Valley High School. She worked many years as a receptionist for the Catholic Churches in Shenandoah. She was a member of the former St. Stephen’s Church and their Ladies Auxiliary. She was also a member of the Greater Shenandoah Area Senior Citizens. Mary Ann enjoyed her trips to the casino and going shopping.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Albert Pronio in 2017, along with two brothers, Robert and Gerald Oravitz.
The surviving family includes several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins, as well as the families of Albert Pronio, Mark Pronio, and Pamela Twardzik, her sister-in-law – Mary Oravitz of Delaware, and her friend and caregiver – Dolores Micko of Shenandoah.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, April 8th at 10:00am in Divine Mercy Parish, 218 W. Cherry St, Shenandoah and will be officiated by Msgr. Ronald Bocian. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday morning, April 8th from 8:30 to 9:30am at the Oravitz Home for Funerals Inc, 40 N. Jardin St, Shenandoah. Burial will follow Mass in St. Stephen’s Parish Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights.
