Lydia D. Bartholomew, 62, of Shenandoah, passed away Saturday, February 5th, 2022, at the Shenandoah Senior Living Community, with her family by her side.
Born on February 18th, 1959, in Ashland, Pa, Lydia was the daughter of the late John L. J. Bartholomew and the late Lillian (Cikot) Bartholomew. She was a graduate of Shenandoah Valley High School.
Until her retirement, Lydia was employed as a cook for many years in the family business of Armando’s Pizzeria and was also the owner/operator of Polo’s Corner Bar in Shenandoah.
Surviving are 3 sons, Matthew R. Nestor with his wife Julie – Ringtown, Thomas J. Nestor with his fiancé Jennifer Skobel – Shenandoah, and Raymond C. Nestor with his wife Carissa – Ringtown. 3 grandchildren, Matthew Allen Nestor, Raymond Robert Nestor, and Aubrey Rae Nestor. A sister, Janet Usiewicz – Florida, a brother, John Bartholomew – North Carolina, along with cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Lydia was of the catholic faith and was a member of the former St. Casimir’s Church, Shenandoah.
Lydia’s sons and other family members would like to express their appreciation and gratitude for the excellent care she received from the staff at the Shenandoah Senior Living Community during her short stay at the facility.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday morning, February 9th, 2022 from 9 to 10:30am at the Oravitz Home for Funerals Inc, 40 N. Jardin St, Shenandoah. Scripture services will begin at 10:30am and will be officiated by Deacon Jack Quirk. Interment will follow in St. Michael’s Cemetery in Shenandoah.
