Leonard F. “Lenny” Savitsky Sr., 91, of Ringtown, passed away on Wednesday, June 5, 2024, at his home.
Born on May 21, 1933, in Shenandoah, he was the son of the late Frank T. and Stella (Szulczewski) Savitsky.
Lenny was a 1951 graduate of East Union Township High School. After school, he served in the United States Army. After the service, he was employed by Blaschak Coal Company as a welder for many years. Lenny was a life member of the Park Crest Fish & Game Club as he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and trap shooting. He was also a lifelong member of St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in Ringtown.
Besides his parents, he was preceded by his wife, Mary Ann (Liss) Savitsky in 2021, two brothers- Stanley and Frank Savitsky, and two sisters – Helen Gill and Lucy Grochowski.
The surviving family includes his son – Leonard “Lenny” Savitsky Jr. with his wife Tanya of Zion Grove, his daughter- Ann Brown with her husband Ron of Ringtown, along with nieces and nephews.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, June 11th from 8:30 to 10:30am at the Oravitz Home for Funerals Inc., 40 N. Jardin St., Shenandoah. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am in St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in Ringtown and will be officiated by Fr. Dominic Pham. Burial will immediately follow in St. Mary’s Parish Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Lenny’s memory may be made to either: Hillside SPCA, the Ringtown Library, or the Ringtown Valley Fire & Rescue.
