Obituary

John S. Glinski, 86, a coal region native, passed away on Sunday, September 5th at Manor Care – King of Prussia.

Born in Shenandoah, he was the son of the late Stanley and Anne Glinski and is preceded in death by his brother Eddie and sister Stella.

John spent his youth ushering at local movie theaters and playing saxophone at dances around the coal region.

After High School, he moved to Detroit where he found both a career in the auto industry, and the love of his life, Dorothy. Their family grew and they had one son together, John G.

John would move back to Shenandoah and would spend his retirement years giving back to the local community by playing concerts at local nursing homes and teaching youth CCD classes.

Remembered as a musician, traveler, movie lover and devoted family man, he will be missed dearly by all who knew him. He leaves behind his wife of 41 years, Dorothy, his son John, and daughter-in-law Bridget.
