Joanne I. Bubnis

Joanne I. Bubnis, 81, of Fountain Springs, passed away on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at her home.

Born in Girardville on March 20, 1945, she was the daughter of the late James and Irene (Sweeney) Stellato.

Joanne was a graduate of the former Immaculate Heart High School class of 1963.  In addition to being a dedicated homemaker, she worked several years as an administrative assistant for the Van Heusen company in Pottsville.  Joanne loved spending time with her grandchildren and family.

Besides her parents, she was preceded by her husband John J. Bubnis in July of 2025, and also by her siblings- brother James Stellato and sister Virginia Maganelli.

Her surviving family includes 2 sons- John Bubnis with his wife Pam of Shenandoah Heights and James Bubnis with his wife Natasha of Frackville, along with 4 grandchildren- Jacqueline, James, Sophie, and Lucy, as well as nieces and nephews.

A visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, May 15th from 8 to 9:30am at the Oravitz Home for Funerals Inc, 40 N. Jardin St, Shenandoah.  Both Joanne and her husband John will be laid to rest at Fort Indiantown Gap National Cemetery- Annville, PA at 11am.  Along with religious services for both, John will receive full military honors.
