Jay William Ryan, 74, of Delano passed away at home February 8th.
Jay was a 1968 graduate of Mahanoy Area High School and then served in the United States Marine Corps from 1969 to 1971.
Jay was actively employed with Access Records Management Services. He was a member of the American Legion of Quakake and was a lifelong member of the Delano Township Fire Company. He actively served as a supervisor for Delano Township for 39 years. He was an active member of Bears Head Sportsman Association, and was serving as club treasurer. He was known for his ability to fix most anything, lending a helping hand, and being quick with a joke. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and time with his family and friends.
Jay was married for 50 years to his wife Anne (Merinsky). Additionally, he is survived by his mother, Nelda (Drums), his sister, Marcy (Florida), his son, Patrick and daughter-in-law Maureen (Delano), his daughter, Katie and son-in-law Brian (Lansdale), and three grandchildren, Colin, Madelyn, and Connor.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, February 17th at 11:00am is St. Richard’s Catholic Church, Barnesville by Fr. Robert Finlan. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 9:30 to 11:00am in the church. Burial will immediately follow in the White Church Cemetery in Barnesville.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Delano Township Fire Company.
