Janice A. Karpovich

Janice A. Karpovich, 74, of Shenandoah passed away October 14, 2022, with her loving family by her side at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

Janice was born May 5, 1948 in Shenandoah, daughter of the late Josephine (Drula) and Peter Cibulsky.  She was employed by the Shenandoah Valley School District, for 34 years as a classroom and library aide.  She was an avid reader who loved traveling (especially the Skyline Drive in Virginia), cooking and baking, and visiting her favorite casinos.  Her greatest joy though, was sharing her love by spending time, with her family and precious grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sister JoAnn and brother Peter.  She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Francis; son, Frank, husband of Deborah; son, Peter, companion of Veronica Smallets; daughter, Julia, wife of Jack Bell; grandchildren Brett, Zachary, Jacob, Lena and Megan; nieces and nephews.

A visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, October 20, 2022, from 9:30 to 11:30am at the Oravitz Home for Funerals Inc, 40 N. Jardin St, Shenandoah.  Scripture services will be held at 11:30am in the funeral home with Msgr. Ronald Bocian officiating.  Burial will immediately follow in the Our Lady of Dawn Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights.
