Gary Riedel “Superman”, 40, of Shenandoah, passed away Wednesday morning, July 21st, unexpectedly at his residence.
Gary was born and raised in Pottsville, Pa on November 7th, 1980 to the late Kathleen Riedel and his surviving father, Robert Riedel.
Gary is leaving behind his four children, Jacob Riedel, Skylar Riedel, Aubrey Smith, and David Smith. His siblings, Robert Riedel and his wife of Oklahoma, Michael and Kimberly Riedel of Tennessee, David Riedel of Chambersburg, Daniel and Leandra Hartnett of Gordon, Deanna Hartnett of Shenandoah, and Megan Hartnett of Girardville. Many loving nieces and nephews survive. He also leaves behind his dog, Mercedes and the love of his life, Melissa Riedel.
Gary was always a considerate man who was willing to help anyone in need. He was that man with a contagious smile and infectious laugh. He had an outstanding personality. Gary was a “jack of all trades and master of none”, as he said to his family and friends. Gary had a love for his family and friends. He was the kind of man who called to check up and check in. He had a heart of gold.
A visitation for family and friends will take place on Wednesday evening, July 28th at the Oravitz Home for Funerals Inc, 40 N. Jardin St, Shenandoah from 6 to 8pm. Scripture services will be conducted at 7:30pm by Pastor Mindy Heppe.
