Gary W. Joseph Sr., 68, of Shenandoah, passed away on Sunday evening, December 22nd surrounded by his family, at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, Pa.
Born in Delaware County at the Chester Hospital on October 19th, 1951 he was the son of the late Leroy and Helen “Anniba” Joseph.
He was a life member of the Essington Fire Department holding several positions and a life member of the Shenandoah Heights Fire Department, where he served as bartender and steward for many years. He also served for the Shenandoah Heights Fire Police. Besides his passion for his fire companies, Gary loved racing and Nascar.
Besides his parents, Gary was preceded by a brother, Jack Joseph.
He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Diane “Muraczewski” Joseph, 5 sons, Michael and his wife Bobbi Jo Huggins – Shenandoah, Gary Joseph Jr. and his wife Tammy – Orwigsburg, Jasen Joseph and Tiffany – Shenandoah, Kenneth Joseph and Shannon – Minersville, and Zachary Joseph and Rachal – Shenandoah. Grandchildren, Michael Jr, Gavin, Brittany, Gwenn, Connor, Jake, Taylor, Quinn, Madison, Kali, Kennedi, Gemma, Jasen Jr., Aiden, Carolynn, Leroy, and Jevonni. 5 Brothers- Steven, Bill, and Roger Joseph – Delaware, Jay Joseph – Glen Olden and Robin Joseph - Tennessee, and 2 sisters, Susan Forsythe – Essington, and Lisa Premeaux – Delaware
A visitation for family and friends will be conducted on Saturday, December 28th from 10 am to 12 noon at the Oravitz Home for Funerals Inc, 40 N. Jardin St, Shenandoah.
