Frances “Fran” Lesko, 62, of Frackville, passed away on Thursday, August 29, 2024, at her home surrounded by her family.
Born in Shenandoah on April 4, 1962, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Theresa (Orlowski) Glowacki.
Fran was a 1980 graduate of Shenandoah Valley High School where she played the saxophone in the marching band. After high school, she attended the Pottsville School of Nursing and became an LPN. She then went on to work for the Broad Mountain Nursing Home in Frackville where she dedicated 30+ years to caring for her patients with love and compassion.
Outside of her career, Fran loved to travel, especially to Ocean City, Maryland. Her favorite vacation was when she had the opportunity to visit Graceland and Dollywood in Tennessee. She also liked to go camping.
She took pride in decorating her home for every holiday and season. You would often find sunflowers in her décor, as they were her favorite flower.
Fran was a fan of baseball and football, and you could find her rooting for her Pittsburgh Steelers or Philadelphia Phillies. She also enjoyed the times spent with her family and childhood friends.
In August of 2013, she rescued the love of her life, an English Shepherd named Elton. However, above all else, her greatest blessing was becoming a “Mimi” to her grandson Ezra in March of 2020.
Besides her parents, Fran was preceded by her sister- Susan Zubowicz and her niece- April Mahmod.
The surviving family includes her daughter- Megan Lesko, her brother- Joseph Glowacki, her sister- Carol Mahmod (John), and her grandson- Ezra Blessing.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Saturday, September 7th from 9:00am to 10:15am at the Oravitz Home for Funerals, 40 N. Jardin St, Shenandoah. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights.
