Florence N. Filozof, 93, of Shenandoah, passed away on Saturday, March 18th, 2023 at the Lehigh Valley Medical Center – Cedar Crest, Allentown.
Born in Shenandoah on August 11th, 1929, she was the daughter of the late John and Nellie (Wylonis) Karahuta.
Florence was a graduate of the former J.W. Cooper High School in Shenandoah. She was a devoted housewife, caregiver, and loved spending time with her family.
Besides her parents, she was preceded by her husband, Raymond Filozof in 1993, her daughter, Annie Spaar in 2013, and 8 siblings.
Surviving family include her son, with whom she lived with, Raymond Filozof and his wife Marilyn – Catasauqua, Pa, her grandson, Jason Spaar – Hazleton, and several nieces and nephews.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, March 23rd from 9 to 10:30am at the Oravitz Home for Funerals Inc, 40 N. Jardin St., Shenandoah. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am in Divine Mercy Parish, 218 W. Cherry St., Shenandoah with Msgr. Ronald Bocian officiating. Burial will immediately follow in St. Casimir’s Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights.
