Eugene L. Stankavage, 89, of Ringtown, passed away on Thursday, November 23, 2023, at Lehigh Valley Cedar Crest in Allentown.
Born in Ringtown on June 21, 1934, he was the son of the late Anthony and Felicia (Petrowsky) Stankavage.
Gene was a graduate of the former Union Township High School. He was a veteran, having served our country in the United States Navy. Gene then worked for PP&L as a heavy equipment operator until his retirement. He then joined his son at the sawmill and enjoyed splitting firewood. In his downtime, he also enjoyed mowing grass, playing the lottery, and going to the casino, but most of all, he loved spending time with his family.
Besides his parents, Gene was preceded by his brother, Leo Stankavage and his sister, Florence Stankavage.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Tina (Wesner) Stankavage, his son- Eugene C. Stankavage with his wife Marie of Pattersonville, his daughter- Sherry Porpiglia with her husband Glenn of Clark Summit; 5 grandchildren- Jolean, Justin, Shana, Kyle, and Jessy, 1 great grandchild – Hadley, and nieces and nephews.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, November 29th from 9:30 to 10:30am at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, 82 N. Center St, Ringtown, Pa. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30am and will be officiated by Fr. Dominic Pham. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Gene’s memory may be made to the charity of your choice.
