Elizabeth T. “Betty” Richards, 82, of Shenandoah, passed away on Wednesday, March 31st at the Shenandoah Senior Living Community.
Born in Shenandoah on September 26th, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Clarence Jones and Alice Hopkins. Betty attended the former J.W. Cooper High School in Shenandoah and worked as a Pharmacy Technician for several years. She enjoyed reading, shopping, but most of all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Besides her parents, Betty was preceded by her husband, Roy D. Richards (2015), 1 daughter, Carol Eyster, 1 brother, Davey Jones, and 2 sisters, Blondie and Jeanie Houser.
Surviving are 4 sons, Roy (Sherry) Richards – Bechtelsville, Paul (Sheila) Richards – Oneida, Daniel (Julie) Richards – Missouri, and Robert (Kathleen) Richards – Shenandoah. 1 brother, Mickey Jones – Shenandoah, 2 sisters, Mary Mathias – New Jersey and Kathy O’Malley – Levittown. 13 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchilden, and nieces and nephews survive.
A visitation for family and friends will take place on Wednesday, April 7th from 9 to 11am at the Oravitz Home for Funerals Inc, 40 N. Jardin St, Shenandoah. Scripture services will be held at 11am in the funeral home and will be officiated by Fr. Dominic Pham. Interment will follow in Sky-View Memorial Park, Tamaqua, Pa.
Due to Covid-19, all CDC recommended social distancing and mask guidelines will be followed.
