Elizabeth "Betty" (Hannis) Buchinsky

Elizabeth “Betty” (Hannis) Buchinsky, 91, of Philadelphia, passed away on October 20, 2025, at Neshaminy Manor in Warrington, Pa.

Born on December 5, 1933, in Shenandoah, Betty was the daughter of the late Michael and Clara (Tomchick) Hannis.

Betty worked for many years as a receptionist at Temple University in Philadelphia.

Besides her parents, Betty was preceded by her husband Alfred “Al” Buchinsky in 2020, along with her two brothers- Tom and Emil Hannis.

The surviving family includes her son David Buchinsky with his wife Diane of Philadelphia, her daughter Beth McMullen with her husband David of Jacksonville, FL, her brother Ray Hannis with his wife Faustina, 6 grandchildren- Kimberly with Paul, Alison with Marc, Emily with Anthony, Steven with Kelly, Andrew, and Ian, and one great grandson – Alfred Jackson (AJ), along with several cousins, nieces and nephews.

A visitation for family and friends will take place on Thursday, November 20th from 8:30am to 10:00am at the Oravitz Home for Funerals Inc, 40 N. Jardin St, Shenandoah.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30am in Divine Mercy Parish, 218 W. Cherry St, Shenandoah, and will be officiated by Msgr. Ronald Bocian.  Burial will immediately follow in St. Casimir’s Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights.
