Elene Weglinski

Elene Weglinski, 91, a resident of Providence Place in Pottsville, passed away on December 15, 2023.

Elene was born in Shenandoah on November 10, 1932.  She was a 1950 graduate of the former J.W. Cooper High School.  She worked as a seamstress in the local garment industry for many years and was a member of the ILGWU.  Elene enjoyed playing bingo, taking trips to the casino, and going to restaurants to dine on good food.

Besides her mother Ella, she was preceded by her husband Alfred J. Weglinski in 1988, her 2 brothers- Peter and Jay Pribish, and a sister- Florence Makarczyk.

Surviving is her son Alfred Weglinski with Leonor, along with nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 18th at 10:00am in Divine Mercy Parish – Sacred Worship Site- St. Casimir’s, 229 N. Jardin St, Shenandoah.  The burial will be held at 12:30pm in the Fort Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in Annville, PA.
