Eileen Mary Heinel, age 76, of Selinsgrove, PA, passed away surrounded by family on Saturday March 14th.
Eileen was born on January 21st, 1950, in Newport, RI to Edward and Barbara Bradbury. She grew up in Newport RI and later moved to New Jersey and graduated from Camden High School.
On August 3rd, 1979, Eileen married William Heinel and they shared almost 50 years together. She spent most of those years building a home and raising her children; always having an open door, welcoming all and having get togethers for any occasions.
After raising her children Eileen spent much of her career working as a CNA caring for the elderly. Outside of work, she enjoyed “being the passenger” on long car rides and taking walks with her dogs. She also enjoyed gardening, reading, puzzles, art and frequent bird watching. Music was the center of her life and brought her so much joy. She was also an avid sports fan and could watch any game you put on from football to tennis. Eileen made a lasting impact on every person she touched throughout her life.
She is survived by two daughters, Laura Marchewka and Lena Heinel, and one son Zachary Heinel. Her siblings Randy Bradbury, Christa Bradbury, Barbara Croly and Bill Cross; and Aunt Marcia Wilkins. She also had 7 grandchildren; Jesse, Wade, Wyatt, Zoey, Jenna, Hanna, and Liv and 4 great-grandchildren; Elias, Leyla, Lucas and Mya. She was known for her devotion to family, love of nature and all living things.
She was preceded in death by her husband William Heinel, father Edward Bradbury, mother Barbara Cross and sister Laurie Talley.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday March the 21st at the Shikellamy State Park Overlook beginning at 3pm. All are welcome to attend.
