Edward F. Beninsky, 90, of Zion Grove, passed away on Monday, July 5th, 2021 at his home.
Born in Mahanoy City on November 22nd, 1930, he was the son of the late Edward and Helen “Mazieka” Beninsky.
Edward was a veteran of the United States Air Force where he served as security police during the Korean Conflict. He then worked for many years at National Starch in New Jersey as an operator. He enjoyed hunting, going for walks, reading, and listening to old country music.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by 3 sisters, Rose Anne Jadus, Eleanor Stauffer, and Alice Fatula, along with 3 other siblings- Dolores, Eugene, & Anthony who passed away early in childhood. 2 nephews, Daniel Stauffer and Thomas R. Stauffer, and 1 niece, Margaret Jadus also preceded.
Surviving is 1 sister, Antoinette Motil, 3 nieces, Helen Ann Visulusky, Mary Jo Collatos, and Debra Armenante, also 3 nephews, Jerome Stauffer, George Motil and his wife Laura who were his caregivers, and Glen Motil. He taught all his nephews the love of the outdoors, especially for hunting and fishing, buying many of them their first fishing rods and guns.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Saturday, July 10th from 9 to 10:30am at the Oravitz Home for Funerals Inc, 40 N. Jardin St, Shenandoah. Scripture services will be held at 10:30am and will be officiated by Fr. Dominic Pham. Burial will immediately follow in Sky-View Memorial Park, Tamaqua.
