Dorothy Glinski, age 79, of Shenandoah, PA, died peacefully in her sleep Christmas Night, 2023. She is preceded in death by her husband and love of her life, John S. Glinski, and is survived by her only son, John A. Glinski.
Dorothy was born in the winter of 1944, to Andrew and Mary Lucas. After a brief stint in the convent and having jobs in everything from libraries to car factories, she found her husband on the church steps, and they were married shortly after. She never accepted the way things were, and carved her own path forward, anchored on the twin beliefs of a higher power, and the goodness of other people.
After traveling the world with her family, her and John settled outside of Philadelphia to be closer to her son and his wife, Bridget.
She will be greatly missed by not only her family, but countless friends she made along the way.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, December 29th from 8:00 to 9:30am at the Oravitz Home for Funerals Inc, 40 N. Jardin St, Shenandoah. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am in Divine Mercy Parish, 218 W. Cherry St, Shenandoah and will be officiated by Msgr. Ronald Bocian. Burial will immediately follow in St. Casimir’s Cemetery in Shenandoah Heights.
