Dorothy Bisco

Dorothy Bisco, 95, of Shenandoah, PA, passed away peacefully in her family’s Weston Place home on November 15, 2025. She was the beloved daughter of John and Mary Bisco, also of Shenandoah.

As a young teenager, Dorothy survived a near-fatal accident that required months of hospitalization and an extraordinary fight for her life. Her full recovery became an early testament to her resilience, strength, and unwavering spirit.

Dorothy built a long and successful career in Washington, D.C., working with Perpetual Savings and Loan and at the Watergate complex, where she joyfully made her home for many years. A gifted and accomplished artist, Dorothy’s creativity brightened every life she touched. She cherished art, travel, and time with family, and was unfailingly generous- always offering her support whenever her loved ones needed her. After retiring in Maryland, she eventually returned to her family homestead in Pennsylvania.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, John and Mary Bisco; her siblings Harry, John, Mary, Anne (Krunkosky), Thomas, and Stephen Bisco; and her longtime partner, Ron Goodwin. She is survived by her brother, William Bisco, and his family, with whom she shared a special and enduring bond, along with her caregiver and nephew Scott Bisco.  She will be remembered as a deeply loved, kind, and generous aunt, great-aunt, godmother, friend, and cherished member of her community.

Private visitation and Panachida services will take place on Friday, November 21st at the Oravitz Home for Funerals Inc, Shenandoah.  Burial will take place in St. Michael’s Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights. Services will be conducted by Rev. Bohdan Vasyliv of St. Michael’s Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church in Shenandoah.
