Daniel S. Salvadore, formerly of Shenandoah and a resident at the Schuylkill Center in Pottsville, passed away on Monday, August 10, 2020 at Schuylkill Center.
Born in Shenandoah, he was the son of the late Alphonso and Lucia “Espositio” Salvadore.
Daniel was a career military veteran with the United States Army having served during the Vietnam Era where he was awarded the Bronze Star. He then worked as a recruiter and trainer throughout his military career. He enjoyed fishing, playing cards, and playing the numbers, but above all, his greatest love was his family.
Besides his parents, he was preceded by his first wife, Patricia in 1999, 3 brothers, Anthony, Joseph, and Thomas Salvadore, and 2 sisters, Mary Alshefski and Sophie Gallagher.
He leaves behind his wife of 18 years, Jennifer (Long) Salvadore, also 1 son, Daniel Salvadore with his wife Angie – Shenandoah, 1 sister, Grace Zulkowski – Shenandoah, 2 grandchildren, Nina Delluso with her husband Joe – Barnesville and Gianna Murphy with her husband Patrick – Frackville, 2 great-grandchildren, Briella Delluso and Joseph Daniel Delluso. Nieces and nephews also survive.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday morning, August 13th, 2020 at the Oravitz Home for Funerals Inc, 40 N. Jardin St, Shenandoah. Scripture Services will be conducted at 10am by Msgr. Ronald Bocian. Interment with military honors will follow in the Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights.
