Clarence Michael Jones, 80, of Shenandoah Heights, passed away on Tuesday, December 13th, 2022, at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, Pa.
Born in Shenandoah on June 6th, 1942, he was the son of the late Clarence and Alice (Hopkins) Jones.
Mickey was a graduate of the former Shenandoah Catholic High School. He retired as a forklift operator for Jeld-Wen in Ringtown. He was a lifetime social member of the Shenandoah Heights Fire Company, a social member of the Amvets, a member of the Rum Dums, and was an avid Notre Dame Football Fan.
Besides his parents, Mickey was preceded by 1 brother, David Jones, and 3 sisters, Joann Jones, Betty Richards, and Jeanne Houser.
Surviving is his loving wife, Cheryl (Hoffman) Jones, 3 sons, Christopher Jones – Shenandoah, Jason Jones- Shenandoah, and Larry Murphy – Ringtown, 2 daughters, Kimberly Kacilowicz with Frank – Shenandoah and Michelle Gulden – Shenandoah. 2 sisters, Mary Mathias – NJ and Kathy O’Malley with James – Levittown. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Mickey was a man who was loved by all. He always found a way to make you smile and laugh. The love of his life, Cheryl and he would have been married 35 years in January. They were never apart from each other, and he still affectionately referred to her as “his bride”. He loved playing with his great grandchildren like he was a child himself. They absolutely adored him as he did them. To say he will be missed dearly would be an understatement.
A visitation for family and friends will take place on Wednesday, December 21st from 9 to 11am at the Oravitz Home for Funerals Inc, 40 N. Jardin St, Shenandoah. Scripture services will be held at 11am. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
