Cherrie Moyle Obituary

Our beloved Cherrie (Tina) Helen Moyle was born the daughter of the late Alberta Helen Aris and the late Alex Herman Samuels on March 15, 1960, in Brooklyn, New York. After a brave and lengthy battle with stage four pancreatic cancer, God called Cherrie (Tina) home on Saturday July 27, 2024, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Cherrie “Tina” received her formal education in the Brooklyn borough of the New York City Public School System and attended the High School of Performing Arts. She wrote, produced, and acted in a comedic play entitled “Bertha’s Butt” and it was a local success. Her natural born talent was her ability to sing, which was discovered while performing in her local school choir. Cherrie “Tina’s” operatic abilities were recognized throughout the years as an exceptional talent. In her mid to late thirties, Cherrie “Tina” professionally recorded two singles, “Two Can Play That Game” and “Summer Time.”

Cherrie “Tina” met her first husband Ronald (Ronnie) Louis Kennedy while in high school. They married at a young age and lived in various parts of Brooklyn, NY. Cherrie “Tina” and Ronnie proceed to have three boys Ronald (Little Ronnie) Louis Kennedy Jr., Keenan Burrell Kennedy, and Ethan Curi Kennedy. Later in life Cherrie “Tina” met and married her soulmate and second husband, Timothy William Moyle. They relocated her family and began their lives together in Mahanoy City, Pennsylvania. Cherrie “Tina” and Tim raised their blended family in a loving and beautiful home until Tim’s untimely passing in January 2009.

Cherrie “Tina” was a fantastic mother, devoted grandmother, passionate democrat and phenomenal cook. She worked as a loan officer at the M&T Bank in Shenandoah, Pennsylvania for over 20 years. Cherrie “Tina” once considered joining the political arena as a county council member in her local district. Her commitment to her community was steadfast. To her family she was known as Tina, to her friends she was known as Cherrie, to her children she was known as Mom, and to her Grandkids she was known as Mammam! Her grandchildren meant the whole world to Cherrie “Tina”. She spent a significant amount of time teaching her grandchildren her world-renowned recipes, supporting them at sporting events and offering them encouraging words of wisdom. Her love for them was endless.

Cherrie “Tina” was preceded in death by her husband, Timothy William Moyle, her mother Alberta Helen Aris, her father Alex Herman Samuels, and brother, Percival John Aris Jr. Cherrie “Tina” was survived by her sons, Ronald Louis Kennedy Jr., Keenan Burrell Kennedy, and Ethan Curi Kennedy, her beloved grandchildren, Olivia Janea Kennedy, Nevaeh Lee Kennedy, Edgerin James Kennedy and Moon Walker Kennedy and her sisters Sonja Aris, Bisi Ideraabdullah (Mahmoud), Jean Castle (Kenneth), Joan Ferebee, Kitty Chryst, Shameka Davidson, and Andrea Samuels, and her brother Mark Samuels, as well as host of adoring nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends
