Catherine M. Dudish
Catherine M. (Dubiansky) Dudish, 95, of Ringtown, formerly of Shenandoah died a peaceful death on December 12, 2024, after a brief illness. Born in Shenandoah, she was the daughter of the late Anastasia (Zholnirchuk) and Joseph Dubiansky. She graduated from the former JW Cooper High School in Shenandoah, Class of 1947, and assisted in preparation of every class reunion to date. Although she spent most of her years as a loving wife and mother, she also worked for over 35 years at the former F. C. Nesbitt Cut Rate store in Shenandoah.
She was a member of St. Michaels’ Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church in Shenandoah, where she was a member of their choir and served as Vice President and active member of the Ladies Auxiliary. She was passionate in her faith and committed a large part of her life to support her church. She represented St. Michael’s year after year in the Heritage parade, in full Ukrainian attire, proudly seated in the back of a convertible. After becoming a grandmother, and because of her kind and loving nature, she was affectionately known to all as “Baba”. She was one of the premiere “pierogy pinchers” at St. Michael’s Church for pierogy sales. She was a trusted neighbor, loved her family, and guided her grandchildren. She was also a member of Shenandoah Senior Citizens and the Shenandoah Historical Society.
Preceding her in death was her loving husband Michael D. Dudish; 3 brothers, Peter (twin), John, and Walter; 2 sisters, Esther Cassano and Julia Hancher; and a grandchild Tara Dudish.
She was the mother of Michele Ann Caputo (Paul), Ringtown; a son David M Dudish (Maria), Silver Spring, MD; 5 grandchildren, Paul, Joel, and Luke Caputo, Christina Hinz (Matt), and David Dudish Jr. (Nicole); and 6 great grandchildren, Abigail, Beau, Bradley, Colton, Caroline Catherine, and Brooke.
A viewing will be held on Monday, December 16, 2024, from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. at St. Michael’s Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, Shenandoah, with Liturgy to be held at 10:00 a.m. The concluding rites will follow in St. Michael’s Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights.
